Artificial Intelligence in Learning Centers

ICLCA Community Initiative

Tutor Training & AI Working Group

Welcome to the resource repository for the Tutor Training & Artificial Intelligence Working Group.

Sparked by discussions on the LRNASST ListServ, the working group was established by founding members Samantha Lambillotte, Ira Fabri, and Greg Garcia to address critical questions surrounding generative AI and academic support. The group held its inaugural meeting on Tuesday, July 07, 2026, drawing over 70 participants from across the field. With overwhelming interest from the community, the group resolved to host regularly scheduled sessions dedicated to examining AI integration and defining tutors' evolving roles alongside these technologies.

Mark Woolwine, ICLCA Website Coordinator, attended the initial session and collaborated with the ICLCA Board and the working group's founders to propose a centralized home for these emerging resources. Through this partnership, the vision for an accessible ICLCA AI Hub came to life—providing learning center professionals with a shared collaborative space.
